Mar 16, 2026
Formula 1 has announced the postponement of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix scheduled for April due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia. The decision was confirmed by the sport’s governing body, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).
According to the statement, the Bahrain Grand Prix, which was set to take place on April 12, and the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah on April 19 will no longer be held next month. Officials said that while alternative options were considered, no replacement races will be added to the calendar in April.
Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali described the move as a difficult decision but said it was necessary given the current situation in the Middle East.
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem also stressed that the organization’s top priority is the safety and well-being of drivers, teams, staff, and fans.
Formula 1 is regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious motor racing competitions, attracting global audiences and teams from across the world.
