Ram Charan Drops ‘Global Star’, Returns to ‘Mega Star’ Title
Mar 14, 2026In a notable shift in his public persona, Ram Charan has decided to drop the “Global Star” appellation and revert to his original “Mega Star” title for upcoming films.
The “Global Star” label, widely associated with the international promotion of RRR “Ram was never comfortable with this ‘Global Star’ business. It was part of SS Rajamouli’s campaign to position RRR as an international project. Both NTR Jr and Ram Charan promoted the film abroad at their own expense. But the ‘global’ tag was not justified by his work after RRR. He has rightly dropped it.”
The move follows a trend among Telugu actors to simplify screen names. Earlier, Vijay Deverakonda had dropped the “THE” from his screen name, returning to a more authentic identity.
