Manipur Government Denies LPG Shortage, Urges Public Not to Panic

The Directorate of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution of the Government of Manipur has clarified that there is no shortage of LPG or other petroleum products in the state and that sufficient stock is currently available.

In a press release issued on Saturday, the Directorate stated that certain social media users and propagandists have been spreading misinformation about an alleged shortage or a possible shortage of LPG and other petroleum products. The department said such claims are misleading consumers and creating unnecessary panic among the public.

According to the statement, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) in Imphal has confirmed that adequate stock of LPG and petroleum products (POL) is available across the state.

The Directorate urged consumers not to panic or engage in unnecessary hoarding of LPG cylinders or petroleum products. It warned that hoarding could lead to safety hazards and accidents, particularly in the case of LPG storage.

Authorities have appealed to the public to rely only on official information and avoid spreading or believing unverified reports circulating on social media.
