US Army Pacific Deputy Commander Meets India’s Chief of Integrated Defence Staff
Mar 12, 2026Deputy Commanding General of the United States Army Pacific, Lieutenant General Joel B. Vowell, called on Chief of Integrated Defence Staff Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit to discuss ways to strengthen defence cooperation between India and the United States.
According to the Headquarters of the Integrated Defence Staff, the meeting focused on advancing discussions under the India–US Major Defence Partnership, reaffirmed by the leadership of both nations.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on sharing best practices in cybersecurity, exploring new avenues of engagement, and enhancing military-to-military cooperation across space, maritime and regional security domains.
The two sides also emphasized the importance of bilateral military exercises in exchanging operational insights and strengthening mutual learning between the armed forces of the two countries.
