Minister Sushanta Chowdhury Reviews Transport Infrastructure Projects
Mar 09, 2026Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Monday chaired a high-level review meeting at the State Secretariat to assess the progress of several ongoing infrastructure projects aimed at transforming the state’s transport sector.
The minister reviewed the status, timelines and financial aspects of development works being carried out by the Transport Department across the state. Key projects include the construction of new District Transport Offices (DTOs) in different districts, the establishment of a new Transport Commissionerate office in Agartala, and the development of new motor stands in various parts of the state.
Senior officials from the Transport Department, Public Works Department, Rural Development Department, Housing Board and representatives of the concerned construction agencies were present at the meeting.
During the review, the minister directed the officials and executing agencies to expedite the construction work while maintaining quality standards. He also asked them to ensure timely completion of the projects and submit the required Utilization Certificates after the completion of the works.
