With the upcoming ADC Village elections approaching, political activities have intensified in the hilly areas of Tripura. In this context, a joining programme was organised on Monday at Joyram Para under Dalpati ADC Village in the 44 Raima Valley Assembly constituency by the BJP’s 44 Raima Valley Mandal.
The programme was attended by the Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma as the chief guest. Among others present were ADC member Bhumika Nand Reang, Janajati Morcha State Committee Secretary Joy Bahadur Rupini, and several BJP leaders and party workers.
During the programme, a total of 284 voters from 112 families joined the BJP from different political parties. They formally joined the party by accepting the BJP flag. Minister Bikash Debbarma and other party leaders welcomed the new members into the party fold.
Many of the new entrants were earlier associated with parties such as Tipra Motha, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Indian National Congress, and Indigenous People's Front of Tripura. They said they decided to join the BJP after being inspired by the development initiatives and administrative work of the present state government.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Bikash Debbarma said the state government has been implementing several projects to improve education, connectivity and social development in tribal-dominated areas. He also assured that the pace of development would continue in the coming days.
