India Clinches Third ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Title


India scripted history by winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup for a record third time after defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday night.

Batting first, the India team, led by Suryakumar Yadav, posted a massive total of 256 runs. In response, New Zealand were bowled out for 159 runs in 19 overs. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah delivered an outstanding performance, claiming four wickets and earning the Player of the Match award.

President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian cricket team on the historic achievement.

In a social media post, President Murmu said the victory brings immense pride and joy to the nation and reflects the rich talent among India’s youth. She praised the players, team management, and support staff for their collective effort.

Vice President Radhakrishnan described the triumph as a proud moment for the country and extended his best wishes to the team, support staff, and millions of fans whose unwavering support contributed to the success.

Prime Minister Modi said the victory demonstrates that determination, discipline, and self-confidence are key to achieving success. Sharing a Sanskrit shloka, he highlighted that with hard work in the right direction, any goal can be accomplished.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also congratulated the team, stating that their exceptional performance throughout the tournament has brought glory and pride to the nation.
