Mimi Majumder Calls for Stronger Women’s Empowerment on International Women’s Day
Mar 08, 2026Marking International Women’s Day, the Tripura Pradesh BJP Mahila Morcha organised a special programme at the Muktadhara Auditorium in Agartala on Sunday, highlighting the importance of women’s empowerment and leadership in society.
Leading the programme, BJP State Mahila Morcha President Mimi Majumder extended her heartfelt greetings to women and emphasised the vital role women play in shaping a progressive and inclusive society. She stated that the strength, courage and leadership of women are among the most powerful forces driving social development.
Speaking on the occasion, Majumder called upon everyone to work collectively towards empowering women and ensuring equal opportunities in every sphere. She said that empowering women is key to building a prosperous and equitable society, and stressed the need to recognise and encourage women’s contributions across different sectors.
As part of the programme, several distinguished women personalities from across Tripura were felicitated for their outstanding achievements and contributions in various fields.
The event was attended by Tripura BJP President Rajib Bhattacharjee, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and Minister Santana Chakma, along with several party leaders, Mahila Morcha members and guests. The programme reflected the Mahila Morcha’s continued commitment to promoting women’s empowerment and recognising their significant role in society.
