NDA Candidates File Nominations for Rajya Sabha from Assam

Three candidates backed by the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Thursday filed their nomination papers for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections from Assam, officials said.

The nominees include Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders Jogen Mohan and Terash Gowala, along with United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) president Pramod Boro.

The candidates submitted their nomination papers in the presence of senior leaders and party supporters. The NDA currently holds a majority in the Assam Legislative Assembly, giving its candidates a strong chance of winning the seats.

The Rajya Sabha elections are held to elect members to the Upper House of Parliament, with MLAs casting their votes to choose representatives from each state.
