ASMITA Women’s League Special Edition Announced in New Delhi


Raksha Nikhil Khadse, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, has announced a special edition of the ASMITA (Achieving Sports Milestone by Inspiring Women Through Action) Women’s Sports League in New Delhi to mark International Women’s Day on March 8.

Addressing a press conference, the Minister said the initiative aims to empower female athletes across the country by providing them with a competitive platform at the grassroots level. She stated that the league is designed to encourage greater participation of young girls and women in sports.

Khadse added that the special edition of the league aligns with the vision of Narendra Modi to promote and strengthen a strong sporting culture in India in the coming years.

The competitions will be organised in three age categories — Under 13 years, 13 to 18 years, and 18 years and above. The athletics events will include 100 metres, 200 metres, and 400 metres races, providing participants with an opportunity to showcase their talent and gain valuable competitive experienc.
