PM Modi Discusses West Asia Tensions with Saudi, Bahrain and Jordan Leaders


Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held separate telephonic conversations with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Jordan amid escalating tensions in the West Asia region, reaffirming India’s support for peace and stability.

During his discussion with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, Mr. Modi strongly condemned the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia, describing them as a violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Both leaders underscored the urgent need for the early restoration of peace and stability in the region. The Prime Minister also expressed appreciation for the Saudi leadership’s continued care and support for the Indian community.

In a separate call with King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, Mr. Modi condemned the attacks on Bahrain and conveyed India’s solidarity with its people during this difficult period. He thanked the Bahraini monarch for the steadfast support extended to the Indian diaspora in the country.

Mr. Modi also spoke with King Abdullah II, expressing deep concern over the evolving regional situation. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to peace, security and the well-being of the people of Jordan, and appreciated the King’s efforts to ensure the safety of the Indian community.

The conversations reflect India’s continued engagement with key regional partners and its emphasis on dialogue, stability and the protection of its citizens abroad.
