England Beat New Zealand by Four Wickets in Super 8 Thriller

In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, England secured a crucial four-wicket win over New Zealand in a Super 8 Group 2 clash at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Friday.
Chasing a competitive target of 160, England reached 161 for 6 in 19.3 overs. Tom Banton top-scored with 33 runs, while Will Jacks played a vital unbeaten knock of 32 to steer his side across the line. For New Zealand, Rachin Ravindra was the standout bowler, claiming three wickets.
Earlier, New Zealand, after electing to bat first, posted 159 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Glenn Phillips led the scoring with 39 off 28 balls, and Tim Seifert contributed 35. England’s bowling effort was shared by Adil Rashid, Will Jacks and Rehan Ahmed, who picked up two wickets each. Jacks was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance.
In another Super 8 Group 2 fixture, Pakistan will face Sri Lanka at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium later today, with the match scheduled to begin at 7 pm local time.
Meanwhile, India kept their semifinal hopes alive with a 72-run victory over Zimbabwe in Chennai. They will next take on the West Indies at the Eden Gardens in their final Super Eight match, which will determine their fate in the tournament.
The semifinals of the tournament are set to be played on 4 and 5 March, with the final scheduled for 8 March.
