PM Modi Launches Nationwide HPV Vaccination Drive for Girls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a nationwide Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination programme for 14-year-old girls from Ajmer, describing it as a major step toward safeguarding women’s health and strengthening their role in society. The campaign was formally inaugurated by administering the HPV vaccine to five girls.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said that ensuring women’s well-being has remained a priority of the government since 2014. He termed the vaccination initiative an important measure to prevent cervical cancer and empower young girls through better healthcare access. “Women are the backbone of every household. Our government works not with a sense of power, but with sensitivity,” he said.
During the event, the Prime Minister also inaugurated, dedicated and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth over ₹16,000 crore in Rajasthan. He distributed appointment letters to more than 21,000 newly selected youths across various departments of the state government, stating that the projects would boost infrastructure, improve connectivity and create employment opportunities.
In his address, Modi also criticized the Congress party over its protest during the AI Impact Summit held in New Delhi, saying the country was proud to host the international event. He praised the Indian Armed Forces for their achievements and accused the opposition of questioning the country’s defence forces.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma also addressed the programme. The event was attended by Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Choudhary and several state ministers.
