Feb 23, 2026
Several stations under the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) have been awarded the prestigious ‘Eat Right Station’ certification by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), reaffirming their commitment to providing safe and hygienic food to passengers.
Among them, Dimapur Railway Station has received the certification following a comprehensive audit of its food stalls, catering units and food handlers. The evaluation assessed compliance with stringent food safety standards, including hygienic food preparation, safe storage practices, proper waste management and the availability of nutritious food options for passengers.
In another achievement, four stations under the Alipurduar Division of NFR have also secured the certification for meeting prescribed food safety and hygiene benchmarks. These are Alipurduar Railway Station, Kokrajhar Railway Station, Golakganj Railway Station and New Mal Junction Railway Station.
The certification reflects the coordinated efforts of railway officials, health inspectors, catering units, authorised vendors and station management teams in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. The recognition is expected to further strengthen passenger confidence in the quality and safety of food services available at these stations.
