Seven Bangladeshi nationals, including a woman and two minors, were apprehended near the Kaiyadepa border under the jurisdiction of Madhupur Police Station on charges of illegal entry into Indian territory, officials said on Saturday.

According to reports, the group allegedly crossed the border a few days ago and took shelter at a house in Noabari village. They are also suspected to have received assistance from a local resident of North Kaiyadepa in entering the area.

The detained individuals have been identified as Robiul Kazi (25), Abdul Mannan (50), Arafat Malik (21), and Khaleda Begum (23), all residents of Khulna District, along with Abdul Jhummadar (35) from Firozpur District. Two minors were also among those held.

In a serious allegation, Khaleda Begum has claimed that she was sexually assaulted at the residence of a local individual in North Kaiyadepa. Police officials stated that the allegation is being treated with utmost seriousness and that an investigation has been initiated.

Personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) detained the group near the border and later handed them over to local police for further legal action.
