Chief Dr.Minister Manik Saha on Saturday welcomed the resumption of the international bus service connecting Agartala, Dhaka, and Kolkata, terming it a significant milestone in strengthening cross-border connectivity and reinforcing the historic bond between India and Bangladesh.
Describing the relationship between the two neighbouring countries as “inseparable” and based on a symbiotic partnership, Dr. Saha said the revival of the bus service would further enhance people-to-people contact, trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges. He expressed optimism that bilateral ties would grow stronger under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the new government in Bangladesh.
“The relationship between India and Bangladesh is rooted in history, shared sacrifices, and mutual respect. With renewed cooperation and positive developments, this bond will continue to flourish in the coming days,” the Chief Minister said.
Dr. Saha also observed that a sense of happiness and positivity is currently prevailing across Bangladesh, adding that similar sentiments are reflected among the people of Tripura. He noted that improved connectivity between the two sides would not only ease travel but also open new avenues for economic growth in the northeastern region.
The Agartala–Dhaka–Kolkata bus service has long been regarded as a crucial link between India’s northeastern states and Bangladesh, reducing travel time and facilitating smoother movement of passengers across borders. Its restart is expected to provide a fresh impetus to regional cooperation and strengthen the longstanding friendship between the two nations.
