CM Manik Saha Reviews Revival Plan for Kailashahar Airport
Feb 21, 2026Highlighting the state government’s commitment to strengthening regional connectivity, Chief Minister Manik Saha on Saturday chaired a high-level review meeting with officials of the Airports Authority of India to expedite the revival of the long-closed Kailashahar Airport and the resumption of flight services.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister took stock of the pending issues that have delayed the reopening of the airport. Detailed discussions were held on resolving technical, infrastructural and regulatory matters, and on initiating the necessary steps to operationalise flights from Kailashahar at the earliest.
Dr. Saha stressed the importance of restoring air connectivity from Kailashahar to boost economic activities, improve accessibility and enhance overall development in the region. He assured full cooperation from the state government to ensure that the long-pending project moves forward without further delay.
