Feb 18, 2026
Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education, and Labour, Tinku Roy, on Wednesday underlined the government’s commitment to women’s safety while promoting the She-Box Portal, an online platform for reporting workplace sexual harassment.
Addressing a state-level training workshop at Pragya Bhavan, organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education, Roy described the portal as a “simple and accessible” tool for women employees to lodge complaints and seek justice.
He also highlighted initiatives like SHE Marts, introduced in the Union Budget 2026–27, which will allow rural women’s Self Help Groups to operate community-owned retail outlets for handicrafts, farm produce, and processed foods, building on the Lakhpati Didi programme that aims to help women earn at least Rs 1 lakh annually.
Calling the She-Box Portal “timely and significant,” the Minister urged officials to spread awareness so more women can use the platform confidently. The event was attended by Jharna Debbarma, Chairperson of the Tripura Commission for Women, Special Secretary Tapan Kumar Das, and other senior officials.
