In a renewed push to make India free from child marriage, the Tripura Commission for Protection of Child Rights organized a special awareness campaign in Agartala. The programme was held in front of the Women’s Commission office.
Chairperson of the State Child Protection Commission, Jayanti Debbarma, along with other officials and members of the commission, was present at the event. Addressing the gathering, she stressed the urgent need to eliminate child marriage and create greater public awareness about its harmful social and legal consequences.
The campaign aimed to educate citizens about child rights, the legal framework prohibiting child marriage, and the long-term impact it has on children’s health, education, and future prospects. Officials urged parents, guardians, and community leaders to come forward and play an active role in protecting children and ensuring a safe and secure environment for their growth and development.
