CM Manik Saha Reaffirms Commitment to Janajati Development
Feb 17, 2026Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday addressed a massive Janajati gathering at Demdum in Unakoti district, underscoring his government’s commitment to building a “Viksit Tripura” through coordinated efforts with the Autonomous District Council (ADC).
In his address, the Chief Minister stated that for years innocent Janajati people had been misled in the name of “Tipraland” and “Greater Tipraland,” while development remained neglected despite positions of power being held in the ADC. He stressed that his government is focused on ensuring genuine progress, transparency, and inclusive growth for tribal communities across the state.
Dr Saha reaffirmed that the present administration is working with a firm resolve to fulfil the aspirations of the Janajati people and accelerate infrastructure, welfare, and livelihood initiatives in ADC areas.
In a significant political development, 215 voters joined the Bharatiya Janata Party during the programme, strengthening the party’s base in the region.
Ministers Tinku Roy and Sudhangshu Das, along with other leaders, were also present at the event.
