Two Snatchers Arrested in Agartala; Stolen Phone, Bike Recovered
Feb 16, 2026Police have arrested two alleged snatchers in connection with a recent robbery incident under the jurisdiction of East Agartala Police Station and recovered a stolen mobile phone along with a motorcycle used in the crime.
According to police, personnel of the East Agartala Police Station carried out a targeted operation and apprehended the accused. During the search, the stolen mobile handset was recovered from their possession. However, the cash amount taken during the incident could not be retrieved, as the accused reportedly admitted to having already spent the money. Police also seized a motorcycle that was allegedly used to execute the snatching.
Officer-in-Charge Subrata Debnath said the accused will be produced before the court for further legal proceedings.
The police have reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order and stated that surveillance and patrolling have been intensified to prevent similar incidents in the area.
