PM Modi Inaugurates Emergency Landing Facility in Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated an Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) on the Moran Bypass in Dibrugarh, Assam, marking a significant step toward strengthening strategic infrastructure in the Northeast.

The Prime Minister, who was on a day-long visit to the state, landed at the newly developed facility earlier in the day. Constructed along a national highway, the Emergency Landing Facility is designed to serve as an alternative runway for military aircraft during emergencies, enhancing the operational readiness of the armed forces.

During the inauguration ceremony, Modi also witnessed an aerial display by the Indian Air Force. The display featured fighter jets and helicopters, including the Sukhoi Su-30MKI, Rafale, AN-32 transport aircraft, Tejas light combat aircraft, and Advanced Light Helicopters, demonstrating the force’s capabilities and rapid deployment readiness.
