Assam Rifles Honours Girl Students on Women in Science Day
Feb 12, 2026On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Assam Rifles organised felicitation ceremonies across five educational institutions to recognise and encourage girl students who have excelled in science subjects.
The programmes were conducted at Fatikroy Government Higher Secondary School, Kumarghat Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Holy Cross School, Fatikroy Girls’ High School and Ambedkar College. Meritorious girl students were honoured for their outstanding academic achievements in science.
During the events, Assam Rifles personnel interacted with the students and highlighted the importance of scientific education, innovation and research in nation-building. They encouraged the girls to pursue careers in science, technology and allied fields, stressing the need for greater female participation in these sectors.
The initiative was aimed at promoting gender equality in scientific education and inspiring young girls to contribute to the country’s scientific and technological advancement.
