Assam to Publish Final Electoral Roll after Door-to-Door Special Revision

The final electoral roll in Assam following the Special Revision (SR) will be published on Tuesday, officials said. The Special Revision was carried out through an extensive door-to-door verification process across the state.

As part of the exercise, a total of 29,656 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) were deployed to verify voter details at the household level. The draft electoral roll was earlier published in December last year, allowing voters to check their information and submit claims or objections.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed the media that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls will be conducted in the state after the Assembly elections. Elections to the 126-member Assam Legislative Assembly are expected to be held during March–April.
