CM Manik Saha Calls Teachers Key Drivers of NEP 2020 at Regional SLA Workshop


Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Monday underscored the pivotal role of teachers in successfully implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, stating that educators are the real drivers of India’s journey towards becoming a developed and self-reliant nation.

Addressing the inaugural session of the three-day Regional Review and Planning Workshop of the School Leadership Academy (SLA) for the North Eastern States at Pragya Bhavan, the Chief Minister described NEP 2020 as a powerful catalyst for shaping future citizens of the country. He emphasized that continuous training, dedication, and hard work of teachers form the backbone of meaningful educational transformation.

“Teachers are the true torchbearers of this change. Their commitment and constant upskilling are essential for translating the vision of NEP 2020 into reality,” Dr. Saha said.

The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of strong school leadership in improving learning outcomes and ensuring effective policy implementation. He added that initiatives like the SLA workshop play a crucial role in reviewing progress and planning future strategies.

The workshop is focused on assessing the status and progress of the School Leadership Academy across the entire North-Eastern region, including Tripura, and aims to strengthen leadership capacity among school heads and education administrators.
