CBDT Seeks Public Feedback on Proposed Income-tax Rules
Feb 09, 2026The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has invited suggestions from stakeholders on the proposed Income-tax Rules and Forms related to the Income Tax Act, 2025.
The Income Tax Act, which received the President’s assent in August last year, is scheduled to come into force from April 1 this year. Ahead of its implementation, the Ministry of Finance has uploaded the draft Income-tax Rules and Forms on the official website, incometaxindia.gov.in, for public consultation.
Stakeholders have been asked to provide inputs on simplifying the language of the rules, reducing litigation, lowering the compliance burden, and identifying redundant or obsolete rules and forms before the final notification is issued.
