CM Manik Saha targets Alleged Irregularities in ADC

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Sunday strongly criticised alleged illegal and unethical activities in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC), stating that several actions were being carried out without valid approval and in violation of established rules.

Addressing a massive public gathering at Khumulwng, the headquarters of the ADC, the Chief Minister said a series of false claims and misinformation campaigns were being exposed one after another. “We are fully aware of everything that is happening. All facts will be placed before the public at the appropriate time,” he said.

Dr Saha referred to the recent controversy surrounding village committee formations, alleging that new committees were created unethically and without following legal procedures, which resulted in legal complications in village committee elections. He noted that the authorities were eventually compelled to cancel those decisions.

The Chief Minister also spoke on the confusion created over the proposed Bishramganj Nagar Panchayat area, accusing certain political groups of indulging in political theatrics. He said the truth has now emerged before the people.

Emphasising development over “negative politics,” Dr Saha asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would work with full commitment to ensure overall development of ADC citizens and expressed confidence in forming a BJP-led government in the ADC.

The programme was attended by BJP state president and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, former MP Rebati Tripura, and senior leader Bipin Debbarma. During the joining programme, 113 families comprising 482 voters from different political parties joined the BJP.
