Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday welcomed the framework for an Interim Trade Agreement between India and the United States, describing it as a reflection of the growing depth, trust and dynamism in bilateral relations.
In a social media post, Mr Modi thanked US President Donald Trump for his personal commitment to strengthening ties between the two countries. He said the framework would bolster the Make in India initiative by opening new opportunities for farmers, entrepreneurs, MSMEs, startups, fishermen and innovators.
The Prime Minister added that the agreement is expected to generate large-scale employment, particularly for women and youth. Highlighting the shared focus on innovation, he said the framework would deepen investment and technology partnerships, strengthen resilient and trusted supply chains, and contribute to global economic growth.
