Pankaj Tripathi Makes Stage Comeback with Lailaaj, Performs with Daughter
Feb 06, 2026Actor Pankaj Tripathi is returning to theatre after 12 years with the musical comedy play Lailaaj, marking a special moment in his artistic journey. The play features Tripathi in a cameo and also stars his daughter Aashi, who began her theatre journey last year.
Produced under Tripathi’s home banner Roopkatha Rangmanch, Lailaaj is produced by Mridula Tripathi and co-produced by Pankaj Tripathi. The play is written and directed by noted theatre artist Faiz Mohammed Khan and is set to open on February 8 at Rangsharda, Mumbai.
Rooted in Indian theatre traditions while carrying a contemporary tone, Lailaaj blends music, humour, and emotion. For Tripathi, the project marks a return to the stage where his acting journey began.
