Pariksha Pe Charcha: PM Modi Urges Students to Trust Their Own Learning Style

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with students during the 9th edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha, advising them to have faith in their own methods of preparation and not succumb to exam-related stress.

In a video released on Friday, the Prime Minister emphasised that every student has a unique learning pattern and no two individuals think or grow in the same way. He urged students to trust their own style of preparation while carefully understanding and adapting the guidance given by teachers, parents, and mentors. He cautioned against blindly copying others, stating that true confidence emerges from a balance of self-belief and guidance.

Addressing teachers, Mr Modi said they should remain sensitive to the learning speed of every student. He noted that teachers should stay just one step ahead of learners so that guidance feels achievable rather than intimidating. Comparing teaching to farming, he said that just as seeds require careful nurturing, students’ minds need patience and understanding for learning to flourish.

On the question of skills versus marks, the Prime Minister said balance is crucial. He explained that skills include both life skills and professional skills and cannot be developed without proper study, observation, and application of knowledge. He also warned students against relying solely on shortcuts such as sure-shot guides and question banks, stressing the importance of understanding the complete syllabus.

Highlighting holistic development, Mr Modi urged students to focus equally on physical and mental well-being through exercise, yoga, proper diet, rest, and mental strength. He reminded them that life is not limited to examinations and marks, describing exams as a means of self-evaluation rather than the ultimate goal.

Encouraging creativity and curiosity, he advised students to convert their hobbies into practical outputs and engage in collaborative learning. Concluding his interaction, the Prime Minister urged students to dream big, step out of their comfort zones, and draw inspiration from biographies.

Pariksha Pe Charcha aims to reduce exam stress and encourage students to view examinations as a positive and integral part of life.
