PM Modi Describes Union Budget 2026–27 as Historic
Feb 01, 2026Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday described the Union Budget 2026–27 as historic, stating that it lays a strong foundation for India’s journey towards becoming a Viksit Bharat by 2047. In a video message to the nation, the Prime Minister said the budget reflects the aspirations and expectations of 140 crore Indians and strengthens the country’s ongoing reform agenda.
Mr Modi said the budget charts a clear and decisive roadmap for inclusive growth, economic development, and long-term national progress. He noted that it reinforces key structural reforms while focusing on growth-oriented policies aimed at empowering citizens and boosting the economy.
Highlighting the forward-looking nature of the budget, the Prime Minister said it would give India’s “Reform Express” new energy and momentum. He added that the budget marks an important step in accelerating development and ensuring sustainable growth as the country moves steadily towards its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
