Economic Survey 2025–26 Tabled in Lok Sabha; GDP Growth Seen at 7.4%


Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday tabled the Economic Survey 2025–26 in the Lok Sabha, projecting India’s real GDP growth at 7.4%. The survey has been prepared by the Department of Economic Affairs under the guidance of the Chief Economic Advisor.

The Economic Survey provides a comprehensive assessment of the current state of the Indian economy and outlines the outlook for the coming year.

Following the tabling of the survey, the House was adjourned for the day and will reconvene on the 1st of next month, when the Union Budget 2026–27 is scheduled to be presented.

The first phase of the Budget Session will continue until the 13th of next month, while the second phase will be held from 9 March to 2 April. In total, 30 sittings are scheduled during the Budget Session.
