Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday announced that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has approved a 50-bedded Critical Care Block at Dhalai District Hospital under the PM-ABHIM scheme, with a project cost of Rs 23.75 crore.

Sharing the information on social media, the Chief Minister said the new facility will significantly strengthen district-level healthcare services by providing advanced treatment for trauma cases, cardiac emergencies, and other serious illnesses. He added that the project will reduce the need to refer critical patients to Agartala, ensuring timely and quality medical care at the local level.

Dr Saha expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda for their support and leadership in expanding modern healthcare infrastructure, particularly in the tribal areas of Tripura.
