Assam Rifles Destroys 1.7 Lakh Ganja Saplings

On the eve of Republic Day, the Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Forest Department, and BSF Police, carried out a major anti-drug operation in Boxonagar, around 38 km south of Agartala.

During the operation, troops destroyed approximately 1,70,000 illicit ganja saplings spread over 69 acres, with an estimated market value of ₹42.5 crore.

The action struck a significant blow to local narcotics networks and reaffirmed the Assam Rifles’ zero-tolerance approach toward drug cultivation and trafficking in the region.
