Scindia Lays Foundation for Tripura’s Mega Tourism Circuit
Jan 25, 2026Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, on Sunday inaugurated the foundation of the “Maa Tripureshwari Tourism Circuit”, a major initiative aimed at boosting tourism across Tripura. The event was held at Narikel Kunja, Dumboor, and marked a significant step toward enhancing the state’s tourism infrastructure.
The ambitious project focuses on developing Tripura’s key destinations, including Neermahal, Sepahijala, Udaipur, Chhabimura, and Dumboor Lake, with modern amenities such as log huts, multipurpose parking facilities, cafeterias, and other visitor-friendly infrastructure. These upgrades aim to attract more tourists while providing a world-class experience in the region.
Highlighting Tripura’s natural beauty, Minister Scindia, accompanied by State Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, took a boat ride on the scenic Dumboor Lake, one of the state’s most picturesque locations.
Speaking at the event, Scindia said the tourism circuit would not only boost visitor numbers but also promote inclusive development and regional prosperity. Minister Chowdhury added that the initiative would position Tripura as a leading destination in the North East, combining ecological preservation with modern infrastructure.
