Security personnel have eliminated poppy crops covering around eight acres in Arunachal Pradesh’s Longding district as part of an anti-narcotics operation, police officials said on Sunday.
The operation was conducted on Friday in Votnu and Khasa villages near the India–Myanmar border. Longding Superintendent of Police Dekio Gumja said the drive was carried out under the supervision of the Pangchau circle executive magistrate.
Officials stated that the action followed an extensive ground survey. Despite challenging terrain, teams coordinated with local village authorities to ensure the operation proceeded smoothly. Drones were also used to monitor and assess the cultivation areas from the air.
