Swadeshi Mela in Agartala Extended Until January 13
Jan 10, 2026The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has announced that the ongoing Swadeshi Mela will be extended by two more days, now running until January 13. The fair was originally scheduled from January 9 to 11.
Speaking at a press conference on Saturday held at Swami Vivekananda Maidan, Mayor Dipak Majumder said the extension was decided in response to the overwhelming response from both the public and participants. “The mela aims to promote Swadeshi products, local artisans, and indigenous entrepreneurship,” he added.
The mayor highlighted that the additional days will allow more visitors to attend and provide local traders greater opportunities to showcase and sell their products. The AMC has ensured that all necessary arrangements are in place for the smooth conduct of the mela during the extended period.
