PV Sindhu Enters Malaysia Open Quarterfinals
Jan 08, 2026India’s ace shuttler PV Sindhu advanced to the women’s singles quarterfinals of the Malaysia Open in Kuala Lumpur with a commanding straight-game victory today. She defeated eighth seed Tomoko Miyazaki of Japan 21-8, 21-13 in just 32 minutes.
This marks Sindhu’s fourth quarterfinal appearance at the Malaysia Open. She will next face either Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi or China’s Gao Fang Jie in the quarterfinals tomorrow.
Earlier, India’s Ayush Shetty went down to world number one Shi Yuqi of China in the men’s singles second round, while Lakshya Sen also exited the tournament.
