V-Mart Staff Booked for Allegedly Detaining and Assaulting Customers in Agartala
Jan 06, 2026In a disturbing incident at a V-Mart outlet in Agartala, three youths were allegedly detained and assaulted by store staff following a dispute over money.
According to sources, the staff reportedly demanded ₹50,000 and ₹20,000 from the youths. When the demands were not met, the employees allegedly resorted to violence.
The incident came to light after the victims raised an alarm, prompting swift police intervention. Acting on the complaint, police detained five V-Mart staff members, including the store manager.
The injured youths were taken for medical examination, and a formal case has been registered. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation and stated that further legal action will be determined based on the findings.
No official statement has yet been issued by V-Mart regarding the allegations.
