BSNL Rolls Out Wi-Fi Calling Service Nationwide
Jan 01, 2026Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Thursday announced the nationwide launch of its Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi), also known as Wi-Fi Calling service, across all telecom circles in India.
According to the Ministry of Communications, the service will be available to all BSNL customers and aims to provide seamless and high-quality voice connectivity, especially in areas with weak mobile network coverage. VoWiFi allows users to make and receive voice calls and send messages using a Wi-Fi network.
The ministry said the service is particularly useful in locations such as homes, offices, basements, and remote or rural areas where mobile signals are often poor. With this rollout, BSNL seeks to improve call quality and ensure reliable communication for customers across the country.
