ECI Revises Schedule for Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls in Uttar Pradesh
Dec 31, 2025
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Uttar Pradesh. According to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Navdeep Rinwa, the draft electoral roll will now be published on 6 January 2026, instead of the earlier announced date of 31 December 2025.
As per the revised timetable, the period for receiving claims and objections will remain open from 6 January to 6 February 2026, allowing voters one month to verify their details and seek corrections. The final electoral roll for the state will be published on 6 March 2026.
Mr Rinwa said that the SIR process in Uttar Pradesh was successfully concluded on 26 December. He added that all enumeration forms collected during the revision exercise have been received and digitised, ensuring a smooth publication process.
The Special Intensive Revision is carried out periodically to update electoral rolls by adding eligible voters, removing ineligible entries, and correcting errors, ahead of future elections in the state.
