Dec 29, 2025In a moving tribute to India’s war heroes, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh felicitated the family of Param Vir Chakra awardee Arun Khetarpal during a special screening of the upcoming war film Ikkis. The event, attended by senior military officials, highlighted the deep connection between the film and real-life acts of courage.
By honouring Khetarpal’s family, the Defence Minister acknowledged not only the sacrifices of soldiers on the battlefield but also the resilience of their families, who bear the emotional weight of such service. The gesture reinforced the film’s role in celebrating the Indian Army’s legacy and the personal sacrifices of its personnel.
Directed by Sriram Raghvan, Ikkis stars Agastya Nanda, Simar Bhatia, Jaideep Alhawat, and the late veteran actor Dharmendra. Drawing from extensive research, the film aims to authentically portray the life, courage, and humanity of one of India’s most revered war heroes. Ikkis is scheduled for release on January 1, 2026.
