IMD Issues Orange Alert for Dense Fog across North and North-East India


The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert warning of dense to very dense fog across large parts of North and North-East India until Sunday. The affected regions include Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya.

According to the IMD, dense fog conditions are also likely to prevail over parts of the North-Eastern states, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Odisha and the Sub-Himalayan region over the next two days.

The weather department has further predicted cold to severe cold day conditions in parts of Haryana, Jharkhand, West Rajasthan and East Uttar Pradesh for the next two to three days.
