Tripura Speaker Biswabandhu Sen No More
Dec 26, 2025Agartala, Dec 26: Tripura Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswabandhu Sen passed away on Friday morning after a prolonged illness. He had been receiving treatment at a private hospital in Bengaluru for several months.
A four-time MLA from Dharmanagar and the 11th Speaker of the Assembly since June 21, 2018, Sen was widely respected for his calm demeanor, administrative skills, and dedication to parliamentary protocols. His passing has left a major void in Tripura’s political landscape.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed deep grief, calling his demise an irreparable loss for the state. Extending condolences to Sen’s family and supporters, he prayed for strength to help them overcome this difficult time.
Leaders across party lines, legislators, and citizens have also mourned the loss of a dignified leader who upheld the sanctity of the House.
