CM Manik Saha Emphasises Sports Culture, Calls for United Fight against Drugs
Dec 25, 2025Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday underscored the importance of sports in shaping a disciplined and confident generation while addressing the closing ceremony of the Sansad Khel Mahotsav at the Dasarath Dev State Sports Complex in Badharghat.
Highlighting the role of sports in character-building, the Chief Minister said participation in sports instils discipline, perseverance and self-belief among young people. He noted that platforms such as the Sansad Khel Mahotsav, envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are helping identify and nurture young talent, encouraging them to pursue their dreams with dedication.
Dr. Saha also called upon the youth and society at large to stand united against the growing drug menace. Describing drug abuse as an international conspiracy aimed at destroying the country’s younger generation, he stressed the need for collective awareness and resistance to protect the future of the nation.
Reiterating the state government’s commitment, the Chief Minister said Tripura is focused on promoting a strong sports culture while simultaneously working to ensure a drug-free society for the next generation.
Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb, and several other dignitaries were present at the event.
