West Tripura district has launched a major drive to eliminate tuberculosis (TB) through health and community support initiatives. In a meeting at the District Office, District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar and Zilla Sabhadhipati Biswajit Shil took an oath to make the district TB-free.
The district is offering free TB screening, diagnostic tests, and medicines at all Primary Health Centres, along with nutritious food support for patients. Community awareness programs are also being strengthened to empower patients and encourage early detection.
Dr. Kumar emphasized that the strategy relies on social, nutritional, and health support, while Shil called on citizens to actively participate in awareness campaigns, supporting the national vision of a TB-Mukt Bharat.
