Minister Sudhangshu Das Visits Progressive Pig Farm in North Tripura
Dec 23, 2025Minister for SC Welfare, Fisheries, and Animal Resources Development Department (ARDD), Sudhangshu Das, on Tuesday visited the pig farm of Raj Chandra Molsom at Behlianchhip village in the Jampui Hills of North Tripura district.
During the visit, the Minister reviewed the farming practices and interacted with the farmer, appreciating his dedication and innovative approach to livestock rearing. Raj Chandra Molsom, a progressive farmer, has successfully established a sustainable model of pig farming, earning an annual income of approximately ₹10–12 lakh.
Minister Das described the farmer’s achievement as inspiring and said such success stories demonstrate the immense potential of animal husbandry and fisheries sectors in Tripura. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to supporting progressive farmers through welfare schemes, technical guidance, and financial assistance to promote self-employment and rural development.
