MP Biplab Kumar Deb thanks PM Modi for Medical Aid to Cancer Patient
Dec 16, 2025An amount of ₹1.25 lakh has been sanctioned for the medical treatment of cancer patient Poonam Dey from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). West Tripura Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb has expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this humanitarian assistance.
According to reports, Poonam Dey, daughter of Debal Dey and a resident of East Champamura in Old Agartala under West Tripura district, has been undergoing treatment for cancer for a long time. As her family sought financial assistance for advanced medical care, MP Biplab Kumar Deb promptly forwarded the request to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund, considering the seriousness of the matter.
The application was approved within a short period, and the sanctioned amount was released to support her treatment.
Speaking on the matter, MP Biplab Kumar Deb said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always stood by people in distress with a compassionate approach. He further added that in most cases where requests for medical assistance have been sent earlier, the Prime Minister has approved them with sincerity and promptness.
The financial support is expected to ease the path of Poonam Dey’s treatment and has brought a sense of relief and renewed hope to her family.
