President Murmu Felicitates NECA 2025 Winners on Energy Conservation Day


On the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day, President Droupadi Murmu felicitated the winners of the National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) 2025 and the National Painting Competition on Energy Conservation 2025 in New Delhi.

Addressing the gathering, President Murmu said that energy conservation is no longer optional but a necessity. She emphasized that every unit of energy saved reflects responsibility towards nature and care for future generations. Highlighting India’s progress, she noted that the country has achieved its clean energy commitments ahead of schedule, marking significant strides in energy efficiency and decarbonisation.

Union Minister for Power Manohar Lal congratulated the winners, noting that the event reflected how development and environmental conservation can go hand in hand. He also highlighted the participation of over 83 lakh students from more than 1.1 lakh schools in the national painting competition.

Best Performing States in Energy Efficiency (NECA 2025): Group 1: Karnataka – 1st Prize, Group 2: Andhra Pradesh – 1st Prize, Group 3: Kerala – 1st Prize, Group 4: Assam – 1st Prize, Group 5: Chandigarh – 1st Prize.

National Painting Competition Winners: Group A: Anuj Prince, Ambala – 1st Prize, Group B: Soumya Jeet Malik, Odisha – 1st Prize.
