CM Dr. Manik Saha Inaugurates 20th Regional Saras Fair
Dec 13, 2025Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday inaugurated the 20th Regional Saras Fair at the Hapania International Fair Ground, highlighting the state government’s continued commitment towards women empowerment and inclusive development.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that Self-Help Groups (SHGs) have emerged as a powerful medium for the socio-economic upliftment of women. He noted that thousands of women associated with SHGs are becoming financially independent and contributing meaningfully to the state’s economy.
Dr. Saha emphasized that the Saras Fair provides a valuable platform for SHG Didis from various districts to exhibit and market their products, helping them gain wider recognition and better market access. He also reiterated the government’s resolve to further strengthen SHGs through training, financial support, and marketing opportunities to ensure sustainable livelihoods for women.
Deputy Speaker Ram Prasad Pal, Mayor Dipak Majumder, MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar and other dignitaries were also present.
